CLUB DIRECTOR
U16 Head Coach
Megan Laikin
Integrity • Serving • Teamwork • Excellence
Megan Laikin is a former right-side hitter and team captain from Mount Saint Mary College in New York, where she developed a lifelong love for the game of volleyball. After coaching two seasons with NY Elite Volleyball Club in Poughkeepsie, she took a short break when she moved to Baltimore, MD—but God had a bigger plan in store. In 2023, Megan felt a strong calling to return to coaching and joined FCA Volleyball Club as the Head Coach for the U16 team. Over the next two years, she fell in love with the mission of using volleyball as a way to encourage and equip young athletes—both in their sport and in their walk with Christ.
Now, Megan is stepping into a new and exciting chapter as the Director of FCA Volleyball Club. She has fully embraced God’s purpose for her life and is coming on board as full-time staff with FCA, committed to sharing the gospel and impacting lives through the sport she loves. Megan is actively involved at Sovereign Grace Church, where her faith continues to grow and shape her leadership. When she’s not coaching, you’ll likely find her playing in local pickup games 4–5 times a week—staying connected to the game and always learning. As both a coach and director, Megan is passionate about building strong players and even stronger people—young women who compete with joy, lead with character, and live with purpose rooted in Christ.
Jailyn Battle
U16 Assistant Coach
Jailyn has been playing volleyball since 2016, gaining experience across indoor, sand, and grass formats—including sixes, quads, triples, and doubles. His versatility on the court gives him a strong understanding of movement and ball control, which he enjoys passing on to developing athletes. With one year of club coaching experience, he has quickly grown passionate about investing in young players.
Jailyn believes coaches and athletes are always teaching each other, and he values the shared learning that happens within a team. As a newer club coach, he is committed to growing in his approach while helping athletes strengthen their skills, confidence, and love for the game. Players can expect an encouraging, humble, and growth‑focused environment under his leadership.
Maddy Westera
U15 Head Coach
Maddy played club volleyball throughout all four years of high school before continuing her career at Harford Community College, where her love for the game deepened. She later had the opportunity to help coach at GGCA, an experience that sparked her passion for working with young athletes and supporting their growth.
As a coach, Maddy is committed to helping players develop strong fundamentals, build confidence, and reach their full potential. She values both skill development and personal growth, striving to create an encouraging, spirit‑led team environment where athletes feel supported and challenged. Maddy believes volleyball is a powerful place for young athletes to grow in character, teamwork, and faith, and she is grateful for the chance to invest in them on and off the court.
Gracie Gardner
15U Assistant Coach
Starting her volleyball journey in 4th grade, she quickly fell in love with the game and began playing club volleyball by 5th grade. After moving to Harford County in Fall 2022, she competed for Aberdeen High School Varsity from her sophomore through senior year as a Libero/DS. She also played with FCA Volleyball Club from Fall 2023 through her final senior season in 2026, where she continued to grow both as an athlete and a leader.
FCA became a constant in her life from the moment she learned about it her sophomore year. She went on to serve as a huddle leader at her school, deepening her faith and strengthening her understanding of her identity in Christ. She is truly grateful for the growth she has experienced — in volleyball, in leadership, and in her walk with the Lord.
Now stepping into coaching, she is excited to invest in young athletes the same way FCA invested in her.
Jill Moore
U14 Head Coach
Coach Jill brings both collegiate volleyball and youth coaching experience, along with a deep passion for developing young athletes on and off the court. She has coached at the youth club level and is committed to helping players build strong fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence. Coach Jill emphasizes not only physical skill but also mental toughness and spiritual growth. She believes sports are an incredible opportunity to teach life lessons, strengthen character, and encourage athletes to live out their faith through sport. Coach Jill is grateful for the chance to invest in this team and excited to see how God will work in and through the players this season.
Emily Gardner
U14 Assistant Coach
Fall 2020, she joined her local YMCA rec league as an assistant coach for 6th–8th graders. When the head coach needed to step away, Emily stepped up and served as head coach through Fall 2022. She continued coaching as the YMCA expanded into a high school league, serving as head coach until Spring 2023 when her family moved to Harford County.
Emily is known for her encouragement and commitment to fundamentals. She loves teaching the foundation of passing, building strong footwork through agility drills, and celebrating the small victories that lead to big growth. Watching an athlete’s face light up after mastering a skill—whether it’s a clean pass or a confident serve—is one of her favorite parts of coaching. She brings a “biggest cheerleader” spirit to every team she leads, offering support, guidance, and genuine joy in each player’s progress.
FCA has allowed Emily to unite her love for Christ and volleyball in a meaningful way. After experiencing the loss of identity that came with her injury while playing volleyball her 8th grade year, she now teaches athletes that their identity is rooted in Christ—not in a sport, a position, or a season. She incorporates the fruits of the Spirit into her coaching, helping players grow not only in skill but also in character. For Emily, coaching is more than developing athletes—it’s walking alongside them as they discover their God‑given gifts and purpose.
Anna Ambro
U13 Head Coach
Anna played DI volleyball at Towson University from 2014 to 2018. She started going to FCA huddles while in college, and it is a huge part of her testimony. Reading God’s word with fellow athletes helped her understand her true identity rooted in Christ. She is so excited to join FCA as a coach! Anna cares about coaching both skills and character. And having fun! She can't wait to learn and grow together.
